    General information

    The enclosed registration form should be used when registering for the conference, banquet and accompanying persons' programme. A separate form should be used for hotel reservations.

    Please follow the instructions for payment as indicated below.

    The registration form is for one participant only and his/her accompanying person(s). Completed registration forms, together with the appropriate payment, should be sent or e-mailed to the conference office.

    Fees

    Full registration before 1 May 1995    BEF 13,000 (approx. US$ 406)
    After 1 May 1995                       BEF 15,000 (approx. US$ 469)
    On-site registration                   BEF 17,000 (approx. US$ 531)
    Single-day registration                BEF 3,000 (approx. US$ 94)
    
    Those participants who wish to limit their attendance at the meeting to one or two days, can book for one or two single registrations. Those who wish to participate for more than two single days should subscribe for the whole conference and should pay for full registration. Please indicate clearly your choice in the timing section of the form. Although we encourage registration beforehand, an on-site registration desk will be available.

    Lunches will be served in the conference area but remain optional. Please indicate your choice on the registration form. Lunch tickets will be for sale at the registration desk. The price for lunch is BEF 350 (approx. US$ 11).

    On Tuesday night a conference Banquet will take place at the Hotel Metropole. This event is optional but requires registration beforehand. The number of places available is limited. Registrations for the banquet will therefore be treated on a first-come-first- served basis. The price of the banquet is BEF 1,750 per person. The registration fee for participants includes:

    The "Einstein meets Magritte" conference proceedings will be published after the meeting. All participants will receive an early invitation to subscribe.

    Payment

    Payment in Belgian Francs (BEF) should be made in advance by means of:
    1. Bank or postal transfer payable to 'Einstein meets Magritte, F 29892'
    account number: 001-0686455-62, ASLK, Agency VUB Oefenplein, Pleinlaan 2, 1050 Brussels Please do not forget to mention your name and 'Einstein meets Magritte, F29892' in the reference box.
    2. Banker's draft
    Banker's draft forwarded together with the registration form. The banker's draft should be purchased at your bank and made out in Belgian Francs (BEF) to 'Einstein meets Magritte, F29892'.
    The only cheques to be accepted are Eurocheques with a maximum of BEF 7,000 per cheque provided that they are crossed and a card number is given.

    All banking charges must be prepaid by the participants themselves.

    Scholarships

    A limited number of scholarships to attend the conference will be available. You can apply for scholarship support at the Einstein meets Magritte conference office. Submit a declaration of necessity, curriculum vitae and at least one letter of recommendation. Deadline for application: 15 April 1995.

    Cancellation

    Notice of cancellation should be sent to the conference office. Cancellations received before May 15, 1995 will be accepted with a refund of all fees except for a cancellation charge of BEF1,000 (approx. US$31). No refunds can be made for cancellations received after May 15, 1995 or where the participant fails to turn up.

  • No deposit is requested. Written confirmation after receipt of credit-card data as guarantee. Payment will be made in the hotel. For cancellations more than 3 weeks before arrival, BEF 500 will be charged. Cancellations later three weeks before arrival or failure to turn up will entail a charge for one night, plus BEF 500.

    Participants who prefer more economical lodging need to register via the enclosed form as well. From Sunday 28 May to Saturday 3 June 1995, free camping will be possible on the university campus. The necessary facilities will be available and tents can be rented.

    A limited number of student rooms are available and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
