INTEGRATION of Systems

Integration is the interconnection of different, highly specialised devices, subsystems or systems into a broader system providing complex functions which require close interactions between its components. Hence integration goes still a step farther than the other concepts to connect systems, i.e. interoperability, compatibility, and interfaceability. (Hornung)
